I am super excited today to introduce my friend and fellow blogger Kristain Lail! She has a totally wonderful blog that you really need to check out!
She's agreed to answer some of my most pressing questions for my fellow bloggers. So without further ado, take it away Kristing:
My name is Kristin. And I am a blogger! My blog is called A Simply Enchanted Life!
Where were you born and where do you call home?
I was born in a dinky little town called Lenoir, in the foothills of North Carolina. It is my home and I love it and live here to this day. I don’t think I will ever leave
How long have you been a blogger?
A year but I wasn’t very serious about it until this year! What is the name of the book you most recently blogged about? A Season for Tending
Did you like the cover?
Rate it on a scale of 1 stars to 5 stars, 5 being the best? I give the cover 5 stars! I love it. The model is gorgeous...want to see?

Isn’t she pretty?! I think this is one of my very favorite covers in this genre.
If you could ask the author 3 questions about this book, what would they be?
Why do I have to wait seven months to read book two? Will Samuel get with his girlfriend or will he find someone new? I really can’t stand his bossy girlfriend. What inspired you to write about a girl who can see into the future?
Can you name a favorite scene from the book?
This one is difficult for me to answer. I think I would have to say Samuel standing up to Catherine (the girlfriend I mentioned that I despise) I honestly cannot stand her character and sadly I kept hoping she would die (I didn’t get that lucky)
What character did you like the most? The least? Why?
I like the main character, Rhoda. She’s just spunky and unique. She isn’t your most typical Amish girl and so many in this genre can seem “generic”

Was this a series or stand alone? If it is a series, will you read the rest of the books?
It is a series and I cannot wait to read the rest!
Was this a review book or something you picked out to read? Do you think that influenced your review?
It was a review book but I had been hoping and praying I would be lucky enough to snag it! It did not influence my review. I had been dying to read it
What did you rate this book?
5 stars

Have you written a book yourself or are you planning to in the future?
I am dabbling with a YA Fantasy book. I doubt I will ever share it with anyone, though. I am too embarrassed of my writing to share it with anyone! What genre is your favorite and why? Oh man...this is too hard to answer! I like a bit of everything. I like fantasy, Christian fiction, fiction, historical. I guess I’m going to have to say that I do not have a favorite. I have favorites within each genre and that’s as close to an answer that you’ll get ;) If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what 3 books would you want with you and why? The Bible, The Lord of the Rings and Wizard’s First Rule—I know I cheated with LOTR since it is three parts but that’s my answer and I’m sticking to it! Is there an Author that you would really like to meet? Is there an author that you really wanted to |
meet and had the pleasure of doing so?
I would love to meet Cindy Woodsmall! I love that she interacts with her fans and I admire that in an author. I have not had the opportunity to meet any authors. No one visits my small town! Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover? Paperback. I blacked my eye once with a hardback because my hand fell asleep and I tend to read until 2-3 a.m. However, I read all formats. Where do you buy your books? I mostly rescue books from a local used bookstore but I also purchase from Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Christian Book Distributers. Have you ever read a book more than once? Which one and why? I read the Bible every year. I also read the Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien frequently Do you prefer movies over books ever? Books are always better! What book are you currently reading and in what format (ebook/paperback/hardcover)? Twenty- Eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Grover Swank (ebook) and The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien (paperback), The Bible (ebook and print) I rarely read one book at a time! What book are you about to start reading? Hrmm, good question! I haven’t made up my mind. Suggestions? What book do you know that you will never read? Why? The 50 Shades books. The grammar in that book is atrocious! |
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest recently and why?
I’ve recently discovered and author by the name of TL Higley. She writes historical fiction. I have only had the pleasure of reading one of her books but I can’t wait to pick up another! Have you read a book that you would like to rewrite the ending of? More than I’d like to admit. I can’t think of an example right now but I know it has happened! I cannot stand to read something and something happen like the main character dying |
Do you like book trailers? Why or why not?
I have seen some that I thought were cheesy and others that really made me excited for the book. So, I guess it depends on the trailer! Name your three favorite book covers: 1. Wizard’s First Rule 2. Soul of the Fire 3. The First Confessor (I haven’t gotten to read this one yet!) The problem is though; these books have many different covers in print at this point so... I may just have to re-read and review them just to show you!!! Where do you usually blog? On my blog which is hosted on blogspot. No where else Do you have any pet peeves? People that dog ear their books. |
How often do you blog? At least twice a week, though it honestly depends on how busy I am
with my five little monsters...err, children.
How many books do you read in a month? Oh gosh, I have no idea. 2-3 a week. Do you have a reading log for your books? Do you have a goal for the year? Yes, on goodreads! My goal is 60 books as some of the books I read are rather lengthy. I am currently on 45, I think. How do you organize your books? By genre on shelves meant for a particular genre or on my “book shrines” that I have set up through the house. Then I go with alphabetical order by author and lastly, in order of release or series. What is your favorite color? Green. What are 5 items you never leave home without: 1. A book or my kindle 2. chapstick 3. panties (haha, for my kid!!! She’s two and I like to be prepared. You probably didn’t expect that answer, right?) 4. My cellphone 5. my purse (to hold all of the above junk) What is your most favorite electronic gadget? My cell phone. Name your three book crushes: |
1. Richard Rahl is really the only book crush I have (Sword of Truth Series)
2. 3. Is there a character you love to hate? YES! I cannot stand Shota in the Sword of Truth series. She grates on my nerves and her appearance never means anything good. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate! |
What is your favorite food to eat?
Caesar salad What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? Homemade Strawberry! What is your favorite TV show? Movie? Smallville/Lord of the Rings (big surprise, right?) What are you most fearful of? I’m terrified of grasshoppers. I turn into a screaming schoolgirl everytime I see one Where can we STALK you?
