Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. Sometimes, the most romantic stories are the ones with a darker side. Love shimmers that much brighter, when there’s no other light to be found.
Alyssa’s parents, Thomas and Alison Gardner, have not had an easy romance. Still, they’ve stayed true to one another through everything from broken hearts, family secrets, and insanity. In Unhinged, you’ll learn the real story of their past—how bleak it once was for them both—and the sacrifices they’ve made to be
together.
One of their favorite passtimes, now that Alison is home from the asylum, is reading books together every evening in bed. Thomas says they tend to be drawn to classical novels with a tragic or gloomy slant because, “We sometimes want to see someone claw their way out of an even darker place than we were once in. And if the hero and heroine aren’t as lucky as we’ve been—finding each other again—it gives us yet another reason to cherish and be grateful for what we have now.”
