Welcome to the Scorched Treachery (the third book in the Imdalind series) book blitz hosted by
Edmund has infiltrated the underground hallways of Prague, guiding the massacre that would end the lives of the last of the great magical race. In her attempts to stop him, Wynifred has been captured and her magic restrained. Chained up in the ancient dungeons of Prague, her fate is left in the hands of her father, who has tried to kill her before.
With Ryland’s screams and Sain’s fragmented sights as her only company, Wyn must rely on something that has been hidden deep inside of her for centuries to help them break free.
Ilyan’s whole life has been building up to one purpose. Protect the Silnỳ. He knows what he must do, and he has no doubt in his ability to do so.
But when his father’s magic removes Joclyn’s mind from her body, he is left protecting the shell of the one person he loves. Desperate to find a way to break her free of her prison, he makes a choice. And that one choice changes everything.
Now, Ilyan finds himself bound to Joclyn in a way that he never knew to be possible.
They say that blood is thicker than water, but Black Water burns, and Ilyan’s heart may not be strong enough to keep it pumping through his veins and give the girl he loves back into his brother’s care.
Even if he can, it may not be safe to do so.

If you were a superhero what would your name be?
You know those Meme’s that go around Facebook; ‘the color of your shirt and the thing to you left is your super hero name’? Well, one time I came up with ‘The Blue St. Bernard’ and I thought it was so silly I kinda want to keep it. I don’t know what my super hero powers would be because all my Bernard does is sleep and lick my face… but it’s still a cool name.
One food you would never eat?
Shellfish, I have an excuse because my husband is deathly allergic, but really it just boils down to being mucus pre-cooking. I have a strict anti-mucus policy.
Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
Fan mail. Really. I really love to hear from people who have read the book, how much they enjoyed it etc. etc. I get all mushed over every time.
Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
Joclyn and I both adore hoodies. I actually mourn summer simply because it means I can’t wear a comfy hoodie for five months.
What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
Iron Man 3 – I’ve got a thing for Iron Man.
I get called everything from Bec, to Becky, to Beckster. It’s only been since I have accepted myself as an adult that people began calling me Rebecca.
If someone wrote a book about your life, what would the title be?
What TV show/movie/book do you watch/read that you'd be embarrassed to admit?
I’m not sure I am truly embarrassed, but I love The IT Crowd
What is your favorite way to spend a rainy day?
Inside, reading, with windows open. I love the smell of rain almost as much as I love the smell of books.
How long do you generally let a story idea ‘marinate’ in your brain before you start the book?
It depends I focus more on fleshing out characters. Once the characters are very concrete and I’ve got a decent story arch plot tends to come naturally.
What do you think of book trailers?
I made one for Kiss of Fire, and not only was it a very big pain to make, it looked awful. I know, personally, I don’t really watch them, so I haven’t made one for Eyes of Ember. We will have to see what the outcome of that choice is.
Something your readers would never guess about you.
I am really shy and actually hate talking about my books. I think it’s embarrassing. My future Sister-In-Law read it on the sly and asked me about it, told me she liked it and my response was… ummm okay. Fail.
What words or expression do you overuse?
Chuckle, My Heart, Quietly – I am getting better at flushing them out though. I really do want to become a better writer, and I think expanding your word usage is step one to accomplishing that.
What is your favorite scene in the book?
When Ilyan takes Joclyn dancing in Santa Fe. You really start to get to know Ilyan, and see Jos come out of her shell.
Not in a crazy way, but I definitely get nudges about what is supposed to happen. Like Joclyn’s father, there were aspects of him that even hit me right out of left field. I like it when that happens though, every time they make perfect sense and actually enhance the story. I think it’s because my characters are so stable, I know what they would do and how they will react. It makes everything more believable.
Are you for or against books being made into movies?
It seems to be the ‘it’ thing to do lately doesn’t it? I think its fine as long as the author retains creative license. I have seen some book to movie transitions that have been awful! They really need to stay true to the original work. As long as they do that I am for it!
They look good, right?
